Dr. Ramasamy

Dr. Ramasamy was born in South India. She underwent medical school training at Madras Medical College in Chennai, India, and subsequently pursued her post-graduate training at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago. After working as a primary care physician for almost five years, she pursued nephrology fellowship training at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. Outside of work, Dr. Ramasamy enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.

Dr. Michael Katz

Dr. Michael Katz is a board-certified nephrologist originally from Johannesburg, South Africa. He completed his nephrology training at the University of Pennsylvania. After some time with the Medical College of Virginia faculty, Dr. Katz joined Piedmont Kidney Institute in 1998. He has since been an active member of the Piedmont hospital family.
He has published peer-reviewed scientific papers, received teaching and academic awards, and is recognized as one of the top doctors in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Viswanathan

Dr. Viswanathan was born in Chennai, India. He underwent training at the prestigious Madras Medical College and subsequently pursued his post-graduate training at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago. After working as an internist for six years, he furthered his education to follow his passion for nephrology at Tufts University.
Dr. Viswanathan believes in providing evidence-based care to his patients. During his nephrology training, he obtained a master’s degree in clinical research to better understand the research processes and applications in clinical medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Viswanathan enjoys playing tennis with his three sons and his life and work partner, Dr. Ramasamy. They travel and hike a lot.

Lara B. Watkins

Lara B. Watkins, M.D., is originally from Birmingham, AL. After completing a nephrology fellowship at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, MA, she moved to Atlanta, GA, in 2001. Since then, she has been in the private practice of nephrology, with her time spent making rounds in the hospital, seeing office patients, and managing dialysis patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Watkins enjoys traveling, exercising, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
